Lily Allen: Unlikely Choice of Chanel?

It has been recently reported that Lily Allen could be the new face of high fashion label Chanel, following in the footsteps of Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman. The 21 year old singer/songwriter, who is known for her chav-like gold jewellery and trainers teamed with vintage prom-style dresses and who has been expelled from several schools, seems like an unlikely choice. This girl certainly has attitude and has commanded a lot of media attention since she catapulted onto the scene, but the face of Chanel? Hmmm...i'm not so sure. What do you think the rationale behind this move could be? Chanel is a luxurious, expensive and sophisticated brand. Lily Allen is a chav. Simple as that. The Sun newspaper commented that "Karl Lagerfield is convinced her signature style — chav meets couture — is going to be THE look of 2007". We shall see.
