Henry Fisker EMotion with 400 Miles

Tesla has always remained the leading automaker when it comes to high-range electric vehicles, but that might change soon, as the Danish automaker, Henry Fisker has announced to launch an all-new electric vehicle titled as ‘Fisker EMotion’, which will go head to head with the Tesla Model S.

For those who don’t know, Henry Fisker is an automotive designer and an entrepreneur best known for his works such as BMW Z8, Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the popular Fisker Karma. He also worked for Tesla and helped with the creation of Model S, but later started his own company.

The “Fisker EMotion” will be the most advanced EV boasting a 400 miles range (643 kilometers). The most astonishing thing about is that it could be charged in just 9 minutes. Official word suggests it could go as fast as 259 km/h (161 mph) and this is definitely something Tesla should worry about. The current Tesla Model S 100D has a range of 335 miles, while the top speed is 155 mph.

Since, the Fisker EMotion will serve as the successor to ‘Fisker Karma’, it won’t recall the mistakes done with its predecessor. For instance, the lithium-ion batteries will be replaced by supercapacitors in the Fisker EMotion. This new battery technology is currently in development by researchers at UCLA.

We do know that the Fisker EMotion will sport self-driving capabilities, but more information regarding the powertrain, architecture, performance statistics and pricing have not been disclosed by the automaker yet. Only the official images of the car give us some hints about what it will look like.

The Fisker Karma was a luxury hybrid sedan priced at $100,000, so we expect the EMotion to be priced similarly. More details will be revealed by the automaker soon.
